What's the role?

Apply your profound knowledge to build the bridge from the electronic manufacturing process at the supplier to our electronic development department. You are responsible for feasibility studies in the very early stage of the technology project to significantly influence the design of the manufactured electronic parts.
Join a team of 5 hand-picked specialists, all unique in their experience in different manufacturing technologies mostly mechanical nature. You will complete the team with your expertise in electronics.

What does the role involve?

You drive in this role all our relevant electronic suppliers to get an overview of what specifically they are working with us. The travel frequency therefore will be around 30-50% in the first 6-12 month and probably later settles at a 30% level.
We make sure the trips are happening during the week, so you have the weekend for you and your beloved ones. The suppliers are in mainland China. Some close to Shanghai, some in the Shenzhen area.
You have a “winning others over” personality to approach the internal Hilti stakeholder / project members and built a relationship with them by utilizing the current projects and your supply observation. These stakeholders are mainly the electronic development engineers in Germany + the related management. The close contact to them, gives you access to all the relevant researches and developments within Hilti.
You are responsible for discoveries and assessments from the supply market. You propose ideas according to your discoveries to new upcoming projects and guide the development according to your experience and influence them significantly on design for manufacturing. We rely here fully on your passion to make a difference in our products and hence for us as a company.
You are a part of a team of experts who all have profound supply field experience as supplier quality engineers and development engineers for electronics. You add additional value on applying your university knowledge to us and we give you access to see, experience and impact electronic manufactured products for Hilti.

What you need is:

  • Finished or nearly finished PHD University graduate in Electronic Engineering / Mechatronics or comparable.
  • knowledge preferred in electronic component fields for example like PCBA & switches, motor & drives.
  • Familiar with the analyse methods of manufacturing processes in semi-conductor industry.
  • High proficiency in English. Any additional language e.g. Chinese, German or more is highly appreciated.
  • Your character is open to deal with local Chinese as well as international teams.
