What's the role?

We’re looking for a passionate Supply Manager for our purchasing department in Shanghai. We belong to the Asian Development and Supply organization in Hilti’s power tool business. You will drive the purchasing activities for part of our finished goods portfolio, thereby contributing to the growth of our product portfolio and our competitiveness and ability to deliver.

What does the role involve?

Our new Supply Manager will:
• Take charge of purchasing activities in new product development, localization, and resourcing projects including
tendering of new business, applying advanced purchasing methods (e.g., reverse auctions);
o monitoring of changes with potential cost impact and keeping cost below cost targets;
o ensuring good collaboration between suppliers and Hilti functions;
o securing enough production capacity at suppliers;
• Work with your team lead or the Strategic Supply Manager to develop the material group strategy;
• Foster and sustain relationships to suppliers, organize regular management reviews with suppliers, oversee and drive for continuous improvement of supplier KPIs;
• Investigate the supply market to identify suitable suppliers and support to qualify new suppliers in line with needs identified in material group strategy;
• Consistently improve material cost productivity by regularly negotiating prices with suppliers and driving additional savings initiatives;
• Secure continuous supply by identifying and implementing preventive measures and addressing supply issues when they arise;
• Mitigate the business interruption risk across your portfolio, ensure Code of Conduct compliance, and contract coverage with suppliers according to our established standards.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or similar
  • 5-7 years of strategic purchasing experience or in a related field in an international environment
  • Proficient use of English and Mandarin in business contexts
  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills
